Leche y sangre/ milk and blood
Trondheim, Norway (2021)
a video dance knitting women with the environment

Nosotras/Us – juntas/together- tramando/weaving un tejido enraizado.
Knitting is a powerful technology, it is a meditation, it is magic.
I learned this practice from my foremothers. He aprendido esta práctica de mis ancestras.
Today far from our homes we join to knit: an encounter, a warp.
Hoy lejos de nuestra casa nos reunimos a tejer: un encuentro, una urdimbre.
I wanted to share a ritual with my companions, to embrace us, to keep us together. We are holding something, which is based on our bodies moving and connecting to each other, with materials and nature. Our bodies in constant transit embrace a space in between, to be vulnerable and free.
This year after many months without creative work, I felt inspired again by my companions – these women surrounded me, who are becoming my kinship in this unrooted period of my life. Norway’s environment reminded me to Peruvian rainforest, a space in which humans feel small and surrender to the power of nature.
I was delighted by Trondheim´s landscape, in which the protagonists are the sea & fjord.
