This new episode of Chinatown Shorts explores Capón Barrio Chino—Lima’s vibrant Chinatown and one of the oldest in South America—through dance and personal narratives of fourth-generation Chinese Peruvians, or Tusáns.
Through the voices of Moyra Silva, Marco Loo, and Angie Chang, the film weaves together movement, photographic archives, and site-specific dance to honor the struggles and lasting cultural contributions of Chinese immigrants to Peru, while expanding perspectives on Chinese immigration in the Americas.
